Health & Safety for Care Staff & Support Workers

A basic introduction to Health and Safety, meeting National Minimum Standards 2000.

This course is delivered within a four and a half hour session. This course is of benefit to care staff and support workers who are new to care or have not completed a Health & Safety course within the past two years.

It is delivered using power point presentation and has a quiz to be completed at the end of the course. Handouts are available at the end of the course. No special clothing is required.

 Course Contents :-
-Discussion about legislations and guidelines under Health and Safety.
-Roles and responsibilities under Health and Safety.
-Guide to risk assessments.
-C.O.S.H.H.
-The importance of hand washing, wearing P.P.E, fire safety, visitors, managing aggression and violence, and harassment.
-There are 2 activities based around identifying hazards and risks.  At the end of the course there are photos which detail poor health and safety.
