This course is delivered within a four hour session, and is of benefit to any candidate who is working with or responsible for hazardous substances. It is generic to all companies.
It is delivered using power point presentation, group mind mapping and activities.
There is an examination of 30 multiple choice test paper to be completed at the end of the course. A good level of literacy skills will be required.
Handouts will be provided. No special clothing required.
Course contents include:-
-The scope of hazardous substances in the workplace
-The range of legislation covering hazardous substances
-How hazardous substances adversely affect health
-Methods of identification for hazardous substances
-Sources of guidance available for the safe use of hazardous substances
-The range of control measures available for the safe use of hazardous substances
-The purpose and contents of COSHH assessments
