Basic Medication Awareness Introduction


This course is completed within a two and half hours. It is divided into two parts.
There is a quiz at the end of the session. It is delivered using a power point presentation with the opportunity for discussions and includes a practical session.

This course is delivered to Gloucestershire Social Services revised Medication Policy 2006 within a two & a half hour session. It is divided into two parts, and there is a quiz at the end. It is delivered using a power point presentation with the opportunity for discussions and with a practical session. No special clothing is required. Disposable gloves and aprons will be provided. Handouts are available

What is Medication Compliance? Instil ear drops
Medication administration Application of Creams
Mandatory procedures Inhalers and nebulisers
Safe storage Inhalers and nebulisers
No touch technique Dispensing of tablets and liquids
Recording and reporting

Using P.P.E.

Adverse /side effects  
Safe disposal
